His son Percy appears to have been in 1905-William had married Alice Ann Fisher in 1904.
William is remembered on the Basingstoke War Memorial along with fellow Australian soldier, Private Brinley Richard Boyer who fell in action around the same date and who is also interred in Lone Pine Cemetery.
