Son of Richard Gerad Heythuysen and Emily Elizabeth Van Heythuysen nee Gibson of Charles Street, Enmore, NSW.

Commenced return to Australia on 5 July 1919 aboard HT Port Melbourne disembarking on 21 August 1919 at Melbourne for onward travel to Sydney.

During 1921c Richard married Beulah Hay in Sydney, NSW
