MR. JAMES LLEWELLYN FOURRO
The death occurred during last week-end of a popular nnd much esteemed railwayman in the person of Mr. James Llewellyn Fourro of North-street Mackay. Born in England, Mr. Fourro came to Australia as a youth. He joined the Railway Department 25 years ago and was a fitter in the Mackay workshops at the time of his death. He was an active and conscientious Freemason, and was Past Master of the Temple Lodge, Mackay. Enlisting in 1915 Mr. Fourro was on active service as a sapper in the Fourth Railway Unit, until the end of the war. At the funeral on Monday there was a large and representative gathering, Rev. Bro. Treloar conducted the service. The Masonic , service was read by War Bro. Ungerer, Returned soldiers accorded full military honors, and wreaths sent included those from fellow railwaynen. R.S.S.I.L.A., Masonic Lodge, and Post Office (where one son in employed). A wife and two sons survive. The sons are Messrs. W. and J. Fourro, both of Mackay. There are two brothers in Bundaberg— Charles and Syd, - and one— W. Fourro — in Auburn (N.S.W.) as well as three sisters - Miss M. Fourro (South Brisbane), Mrs. J Barrett (Auckland N.Z.).
