Francis Sheehan's parents were David Sheehan and Johanna O'Brien. Francis attended the North Pine State School and Humpybong State School. He married Jennie Austin in 1900 and had four children by the time he enlisted at age 39. He and his wife owned the Woody Point Post Office store.
