No mother left to mourn

William's demise was mentioned by fellow 9th Light Horseman Sgt Egbert Smith, when Smith returned home to recover from typhoid fever.
Cameron's brief story is told in “Our Anzacs” Commemorative Booklet, Shepparton News (April 2015), and retold in ANZAC TALES Commemorating the centenary of Anzac and the involvement of Rushworth and district in World War 1, Waranga News from 2015-2018. His diary ends in 1915. His mother died whilst he was serving overseas.
