His parents were William and Charlotte Walsh who owned the Scarborough Hotel. He was aged 30 and a Redcliffe Mail Contractor at the time of his enlistment in July 1915. Robert had attended Humpybong State School and later married Kathleen Clark in 1910. An older brother, William Thomas [4114] had enlisted before him.
WALSH, Mr. Robert Arnold, Lindsay St. Hawthorne, late employee Mercantile Wharf, 25th Batt., 1st, A.I.F.— In announcing the death of their beloved Husband, Father, and Brother (Robert Arnold Walsh), the Relatives and Friends of Mrs. R. A. Walsh Miss M. Walsh, Misses J. and F. Walsh, and Mr. H.Walsh are respectfully informed that the Funeral is arranged to leave the Jireh Baptist Church, Valley, To-morrow (Tuesday) Morning, on conclusion of service by the Rev. A. Waters, commencing at 11 o'clock, for the Brisbane Crematorium, arriving 12 noon.— METROPOLITAN FUNERALS.
