Son of Hugh Orr and Alexina Orr nee McCracken of McDonald Road, Golden Square, Bendigo, Victoria.
Commenced return to Australia on 16 October 1916 aboard HS Karoola disembarking at Fremantle on 2 December 1916; he then embarked HT Euripides at Fremantle for onward travel to Melbourne disembarking on 21 February 1917
