Details provided are taken from the book "Stealth Raiders - a few daring men in 1918" written by Lucas Jordan, published 2017, refer to page 265. Prior to the war he was a labourer of Albury NSW. He enlisted 4th August 1915, aged 20 years. He served with the 1st Infantry Battalion. Unfortunately, he was Killed in Action 2nd July 1918. Rest in Peace. Lest we Forget

Son of Henry and Bridget Eagles of Keiwa Street, Albury, NSW later of Hovel Street, Albury, NSW; brother of Herbert Walter Eagles who died of wounds on 20 June 1916 while serving with the 1st Battalion and Thomas Wolgar Eagles who returned to Australia on 4 May 1917 having served with the 1st Battalion
