Michael Levy was born on the 26th of October 1898, to Henry and Lucy Levy in Narrandera, in the Colony of New South Wales. Michael was involved with senior cadets and the militia before enlisting in the AIF on the 8th of May 1918. He disembarked in London on the 14th of November 1918, three days after the Armistice was signed. In March 1919, Michael was briefly sent to France, but was returned to England due to poor health. Michael was discharged from the AIF on the 29th of November 1919 and returned to his pre-war occupation of a salesman.

Michael married Melva Turvly in 1927 and had two children, Daryl, and Valerie. Michael died in September 1947, he was survived by his wife, two children and his mother.
