He was 26/27 and the son of Lawrence and Margaret Thomson, nee Smith of Aithsetter, Cunningsburgh, Shetland, Scotland.
He features on Shetland's Roll of Honour at page 126 and is commemorated on the Cunningsburgh War Memorial.
