Hector MacCallum, known as ‘Snowy’ to his family, was the son of Hector and Emma MacCallum and husband of Amy May MacCallum, of Mittagong, New South Wales. He died from the concussion of a shell explosion near Roisel, in France.
His younger brother, 10 Lce. Serjt. Lindsay Stuart MacCallum 3rd Battalion AIF, was killed in action at Pozieres on 24 July 1916, aged 22.
