Short History

Thomas was born in Glasgow, Scotland around 1882. He enlisted in the AN&MEF stating that he was single and a Tram Conductor. He gave his father, Andrew Glasgow Robertson, as his next of kin.
He returned from Rabaul and was discharged on 28th Jan 1915 having completed 171 days service.
On 15th October 1915 he joined the AIF as a sapper in the 1st Reinforcements, 7th Field Company of Engineers, service number 3757. He left Sydney for the Middle east on 30th November 1915 aboard the CERAMIC. In March 1916 he went from Alexandria to Marseilles, France with his unit. On 21st October 1917 he was appointed Lance Corporal an on 31st August 1918 received a gunshot wound to the right thigh and was evacuated back to England.
Thomas left England aboard the Nestor on 12th December 1918, arriving back in Sydney on 14th February 1919.
He was discharged, medically unfit, on 21st April and it is believed he returned to Scotland some time after this,
