He was 33 and the son of James Edward and Mary Florence Burniston of 17, Elphin Grove, Hamilton, Victoria, Australia.; husband of Phoebe Alma Burniston, of Frederickton, Macleay River, New South Wales.
His twin brother also fell-he was Trooper Leslie Stuart Burniston, aged 32, Service Number 2409-Died 06/11/1917-3rd Australian Bn. Imperial Camel Corps (Australian)
