In his own words

'Diaries from the firing line', a two page article published in The West Australian Weekend Extra on Saturday, 26 April 2003 is sub-titled: 'Handwritten war diaries by Perth soldier Major Frances McAdam. The diary, and a military photograph were donated by his son, John Hugh McAdam to the Royal Australian Artillery Historical Society of Western Australia (Inc). John also organised for the diary to be first transcribed for family members. Extracts and editorial by journalist, Cyril Ayris bring Major McAdam's story to light. Please see pages 1 and 2 listed on the research links.
