George Foster

George Foster, born Geelong in 1878, was the husband of Catherine Foster. He was also the eldest son of Thomas and Ellen Foster

George and Catherine had three children;

George Edward Foster 1914-1994
Edward William Foster 1923-1990

George worked as a labourer in a ropeworks firstly in Geelong, Victoria then later in Port Adelaide

After the war his health deteriorated and he was limited in what he could do.He is buried in the West Terrace Cemetery, Adelaide

Brother of 289 Private Edward Joseph Foster of 43 Battalion.  Killed  in action on 4 October 1917; 1868 Private Thomas Foster  of 43 Battalion. Died of wounds 5 October 1917; 1665 Private John Foster of the 48 Battalion. Returned to Australia on 2 June 1919; 2921  Private George Foster 32 Battalion. Returned to Australia 22 May 1919
