Biography contributed by Paul Trevor

It appears that the Roll of Honour from the Australian War Memorial and the Commonwealth War Graves Commission with reference to the date of death of 3169 Pte. George Newman are incorrect as per information from his Service Record held at the National Australian Archieves. Pte. George Newman correct date of death was 29 July 1916, not 29 July 1917 as recorded.
