Norman Hollins Gaunt
Norman Hollins Gaunt was born at Forest Range on the 20th April 1888 and worked as a baker prior to enlisting at the age of 26 on the 4th January 1915.
Gaunt named his wife Laura Gaunt of Maylands as his next of kin.
Gaunt joined the 9th Light Horse Regiment and sailed to Gallipoli on the 26th May 1915, where he joined the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force on the 5th August.
Sergeant Gaunt suffered a gunshot wound to the left forearm on the 31st August and was treated at 16 Casualty Clearing Station Anzac before being sent to 15 Stationary Hospital at Mudros. On the 28th September he was sent to England on board the Aquatania and at Portsmouth was admitted to the 5 Southern General Hospital and later Epsom Hospital.
Gaunt left England for Australia on board the H.T. Suevic on the 11th March 1916, arriving on the 23rd of April and was discharged as medically unfit on the 18th August 1916
