Biography contributed by John Edwards

"In the "Leader" of October 23rd appeared a photo of H. A. Withers, killed. We believe this is identical with a youth named Henry Albert Withers, born November 11th, 1897, and a nephew of Mr T. Davis, late of Gooramadda. He attended the Gooramadda School in 1911, and is believed to be the only pupil that attended the Gooramadda S.S. 1948 that has enlisted." - from the Rutherglen Sun and Chiltern Valley Advertiser 26 Oct 1915 (nla.gov.au)
