Charles Herbert Augustus Hedger was born in Mt Gambier. Charles went to school and grew up in Orroroo. Charles was 28 when he enlisted in the war. Charles worked as a painter before he whe enlisted and he was married to Emma Charlotte Hedger.
Charles was enlisted 12th May 1915 at Keswick, South Australia.
