"MR. A. J. HOPKINS
The death occurred suddenly yesterday of Mr. Arthur John Hopkins, Tallong, at the age of 58 years. Mr. Hopkins, who followed grazing pursuits, was very well known in the Tallong district, having lived there all his life. He was a leading figure in all disirict public bodies. He served in the last war with the 20th Battalion, and received the Military Medal. During this war he did full-time duty with the V.D.C. The late Mr. Hopkins is survived by his wife and two daughters, Ivy and Doreen. and one son, Edgar. The funeral will take place tomorrow at 4 p.m. from the Tallong Church of England." - from the Goulburn Evening Post 21 May 1945 (nla.gov.au)
