Alan Lyle CAMPER was born in Wentworth, New South Wales on 25th December, 1883

His parents were William CAMPER & Eleanor Julia SCOTT who married in Wentworth in 1875

He enlisted in Blackboy Hill, Western Australia on 5th November, 1914 and embarked with the 2nd Stationary Hospital from Fremantle , WA on the ship Kyarra on 14th December, 1914

He returned to Australia on 2nd August, 1919 on the ship HMAT Delta and was discharged on 9th November, 1919 - his final rank was Sergeant with the 14th Australian General Hospital

Alan married Gladys Eva MOULE in Sydney in 1936 - Gladys was a Staff Nurse and also served during WW1

He died on 29th July, 1941 at the Lady Davidson Home in Turramurra, Sydney and was cremated at the Northern Suburbs Crematorium in North Ryde

His brother William Valentine CAMPER (SN2659) & (SN326) served in both the Boer War and World War 1 and returned to Australia in 1918
