John Middleton JEFFREYS the son of John Middleton Jeffreys and Margaret Agnes nee Broughton.

He had married Maria Winifred Lewis (1907-1912) and Mabel Waghorn (1919).

Can confirm he had 2 sons, Frederick Gwynne and Lewis William JEFFREYS

He enlisted September 1914  joining the 5th Australian Battalion.

Eight months later Was shot in the head and side whilst serving during the conflict at the Dardenelles.

Accordingto to a letter written by his son Lewis in 1967, seeking information on medals. His father had had part of his brain removed because of the injury. He also stated that his Father had spent the latter part of his life (approx. 20 years) as a resident of the Bundoora Repat Hospital.

He also stated that after his death his father had been buried by the Bundoora Hosptial at Coburg Pine Grove Cemetery at the age of 73.

He is interred with both wives and son Frederick Gwin
