MR. MARCUS FRANCIS
DAFFY.
The death took place at the residence of his son, "Glen Lovat," Gellibrand, on Monday, of Mr Marcus F. Daffy, at the age of 67 years. For a number of years the deceased was farming at South Purrumbete and then at Pomborneit. He enlisted for service in 1915, and after his return he again ,took up farming pursuits at Gerangamete, and returned to South Purrumbete. For the last six months Mr Daffy had retired from active work and lived in Colac. His wife predeceased him six weeks ago.
His remains were transfered to St. Mary's Church, Colac, where requiem mass was celebrated by the Very Rev. Dean D. R. Howell, and the interment took place to the Colac cemetery on Tuesday. Many floral tributes were sent, in cluding a wreath from the Colac branch R.S.S.I.L.A. The casket bearers, were Messrs Marcus, Richard, Jack, Leo, and Jim Daffy (sons), and Jack Daffy (grand son), the pall, being supported by Messrs L. Daffy, R. Daffy, T. Daffy (brothers), WV, Daffy (grand-son), J. Daffy, F. Daffy, W. Weston, T. Daffy (nephews), W. Williams (son in-law) , J. Sexton, D. Murray, and J. Mulheron. The Very Rev. Dean D. Howell officiated at the grave side.
