George Ford was born in Shapwick, Somerset England around 1878. Before enlistment, his occupation was a Labourer. He stands at 5 feet and 7 inches (173cm) and weighed 150lb (68kg). His appearance consisted of a dark complexion, dark hair and brown eyes. His religious denomination was the Church of England.
George Ford enlisted on the 2nd of December 1914 in Oaklands South Australia when he was 35 ½ years old. He embarked from Melbourne on the 12th of February 1915. He served at Gallipoli and the Middle East.
He survived the war and on the 3rd of September 1919, he disembarked at Adelaide and was finally discharged on the 3rd of December 1919.
