Member of Champion Team, Brigade Competitions Senior Cadets 1911-12 received Silver Medal. Commonwealth Military Competitions, Member of Champion Team. Commonwealth Competitions Senior Cadets 1912-13 received Gold Medal.

Brother of 2nd Lieutenant Alfred Stanley Hunt RFC who served in same Battalion in France and witnessed Bruce's death. Stanley was killed in 1917 when his aircraft crashed during flying training with the Royal Flying Corps.
