Clarence Aubrey Noel Pollard

Clarence Aubrey Noel Pollard was born on the 12 Dec 1897 in Brewarrina to George Henry Pollard, a carpenter by trade who had immigrated from Lancashire England and Evelyn Reed born in Bathurst NSW.

Clarence was one of seven children and attended school in Brewarrina NSW. Siblings were William Sutcliffe Pollard, Mary Isabel Rose Pollard, George Wallace Pollard, Evelyn Iris Pollard, Ormand Stanley Pollard, Rodney Burton Pollard.

He joined the public service as a junior clerk head office in the Colonial Tresury Department, Appointment Date 18 Aug 1915 on a salary of 60 pounds per annum.

He enlisted on the 10 Jan 1916 at Casula, NSW 34 kms SW of Sydney, at the aged of 18 years 2 months. Address at time of enlistment was 24 Park Rd, Moore Park.
Service Number 5756. Physical description, Fresh complexion, Blue eyes, fair hair.

Clarence Aubrey Pollard was reported missing in action on the 5 Nov 1916 “in the field” 10 months after enlisting. He was reported as killed in action after enquiry in 1917.
