Alfred Griffith died of wounds in the 14th General Hospital, Wimereux, France. He had suffered severe gunshot wounds to his shoulders, eye, and left leg on 4 October 1917, in Belgium.
He was the only son of George Edwin and Isabella Frances Griffith, of Uralla, New South Wales.
