MILITARY MEDAL WON
For bravery on the Field in France Corporal G. Howman, who left with
the 4th Field Artillery Brigade, A.I.F., has been awarded the Military Medal. (For gallantry throughout operations, especially in Sausage Valley in assisting to extinguish fire in burning ammunition store. )
Corporal Howman, whose parents live at Harrietville, suffered severe
burns while fighting, at Pozieres. His sister, "Miss Florence Howman,
Is attached to the British Nursing Staff, and is on duty in France.
