Barnett Francis Samuel ALLEN was born on 19th February, 1882 in Warwick, Queensland
His parents were Robert ALLEN and Mary GRAYSON
He married on 13th December, 1909 to Edith Alison CHISHOLM. - he was also a polititian for several years (see link below for more details)
Barnett had previous service as a Private with the Teachers Volunteer, Corp, 1904-05 Maranon Rifle Club, Mitchell, 1905-06 as Gunner with AFA Brisbane , Lieutenant with Commonwealth Cadets corp, 1906 to date, Area Office T.A. 11B Newtown, Toowoomba 1915-17, Leiutenant temporary ,11th Infantry, 1st oct 1917 to date of enlistment in AIF, AIF 6 months to present as an acting Sergeant.
He enlisted on 7th December, 1917 with the Australian Army - he was with the 7th Queensland Reinforcements - unit embarked from Sydney on board SS Wyreema on 14th October, 1918 - he was discharged from the Army on 7th January, 1919 - He was awarded the British War Medal & the Victory Medal
Barnett died on 18th October, 1948 in Brisbane , Queensland & is buried in Lutwyche Cemetery.
