Son of Harriet Balderson of Argyle Avenue, Chelsea who wrote:- To the Department of Defence requesting that his wife receive no payment, because "deserted him 2 years and 8 months prior to War". She also stated that he was "only 18 years and 11 days old when married and his wife was a wayward person". She also stated that prior to the war he had met with a solicitor to arrange for a divorce, but had put this aside due to the excitement of war
