Son of John Zeller and Ann Zeller nee Nixon of Chinchilla, QLD.
Brother of Richard Zeller who retruned to Australia on 15 February 1919 having served with the 42nd Battalion; Thomas Zeller who was killed in action on 7 October 1917 and is buried in the Tyne Cot Cemetery, Plot XX111, Row A, Grave 6; George Herbert Zeller who died of wounds on 9 Apirl 1918 while serving with the 25th Battalion and is buried in the Warloy-Baillon Communal Cemetery Extension, Plot 1V, Row E. Grave 3
Commenced return to Australia on 5 July 1919 aboard HT Port Melbourne disembarking on 20 August 1919 at Melbourne for onward travel to Brisbane.
