Born  SYDNEY Torrington Allen, 4 July 1883 in Adelaide, SA
(SA Birth Record 1842 - 1906 Book: 306 Page: 245 District: Ade.)

Father Mark ALLEN and Mother Ellen (nee THOMPSON).
Father died and mother was living at c/o Mrs Spinks at 35 Burns Street,
Darling Harbour, NSW.

In 1921 Ernest stated that he and his siblings had not heard or seen of their
mother for almost 20 years.

Prior to embarking he lived at 9 Carrington Street, West Maitland, NSW.

Siblings:
Sister   Edith Kent (nee Allen) He stated as his next of kin
who lived at 18 Bella Street, West Maitland, NSW.

Eldest brother   Richard John Allen (117 Harris St, Pyrmont NSW)

                   as a Private in C Company, 17th Infantry Battalion, 5th Infantry Brigade

28/6/1915    admitted with dysentery to No.1 Australian General Hospital, Heliopolis

16/8/1915    proceeded to join Mediterranean Expeditionary Forces in Gallipoli

1/10/1915    admitted sick with dysentery to 5th Australian Field Ambulance, Popes Post
4/10/1915    returned to duty

6/11/1915    admitted with Influenza to 5th Australian Field Ambulance, Popes Post
8/11/1915    returned to duty

7/12/1915    killed in action in Dardanelles, Gallipoli
