The details provided are taken from the book "Stealth Raiders - a few daring men in 1918" written by Lucas Jordan, published 2017, reger to pages 105 + 270. Prior to the war he was a warehouseman of Hawthorn Vic. He enlisted 17th Aug 1914 aged 23 years. He served with the 5th Infantry Battalion, rising to the rank of Sergeant. During his service he was awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal for his activities. He survived the war, departing the UK for home 23rd Oct 1918.
