Son of John Uren and Isabella Uren nee Halladay of Mount Street, Heidelberg, Victoria.
22 February 1918 - enlisted at Melbourne, Victoria, with the 5th General Service (Victorian) Reinforcements and with the rank of Private.
12 August 1918 - transferred to the 60th Battalion
2 October 1918 - transferred to the 8th Battalion
23 July 1919 - commenced return to Australia aboard HT Suevic disembarking on 10 September 1919
Medal: British War Medal
25 September 1919 - discharged at the 3rd Military District
