He was born in 1892 at Prahan Vic to parents Hugh Knuckey and Mary Jane Blanchard. He married Lucy May O'Brien in 1908 at Ballarat Vic. He was a bootmaker and apprenticed to his father. He died in 1922 at Maffra Vic.
