"CYCLIST KILLED NEAR KAPUNDA. Returned Soldier with Ten Children. Kapunda June 16
Hugh Davies, 38 met with a fatal accident when returning home from his work at dusk yesterday. He was cycling along Clare road, on the outskirts of the town, when he collided with a bicycle with a small sidecar attachment, ridden by Robert Datson. Davies, who was thrown heavily on to his head, was picked up unconscious, and taken to the Kapunda Hospital, where he died early this morning. Davies, who was a returned soldier, has left a widow, a daughter of Mr. A. Byrnes, and 10 children." - from the Adelaide Advertiser 17 Jun 1933 (nla.gov.au)
