Harold Charles Crebert was born in 1883 in Waratah, New South Wales to Joseph Francis & Elizabeth Ann Crebert. He was the second child out of ten children born to the couple. Private Crebert attended Waratah Public School. Prior to joining the Australian Imperial Force during World War I he worked as an iron moulder. In 1908 he married Mabel Ellen Burns. Sadly on the 26th of August 1916 he was killed in action while in Pozieres, Somme Sector, France. His name is listed on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial.
