His father was John Carl Norton and his mother was Sarah Alderman
His middle name is sometimes spelled Rignold and also Reginald.
He enlisted in July 1918-16th to 27th (NSW) Reinforcement-Unit from Nominal Roll
4th Battalion.
At the time of his war service, he gave his Next of Kin as his sister, Mrs L William, 21 Taylor Street, Darlinghurst, New South Wales.
He embarked at age 18 from Sydney, New South Wales, on board HMAT A41 Bakara on 4 September 1918.
Returned to Australia 22 August 1919.
Later he married and is known to have had one son who lived at Botany, NSW.
