Unit embarked from Sydney, New South Wales, on board HMAT RMS Orontes on 10 November 1915.
Served in Egypt, suffered with mumps 9 March 1916; continued illness throughout his service.
Returned to Australia 22 August 1919, failed to embark per Burma to Fremantle, Western Australia.
