Leopold Leslie Manuel Tanks was born to William Ernest Taylor and ?. His father, William was living in Barcaldine, Queensland at the time of Leo's enlistment and Barcaldine was the address used by Leo on his enlistment papers.
Leo married Grace Hale on the 25/9/1919 in Herpenden, England.
They had seven children, one who was deceased at the time of his death.
1. Leslie Arthur Edward Tanks b. 7/6/1922 who enlisted in WW2 Service Number QX33264. He died on 8/10/1979 and was buried in Longreach Cemetery.
