"...Lieutenant Thomas Karran Maltby, 8th Reinforcements, 5th Battalion, of Victoria. Lt Maltby previously served with the 66th Infantry Senior Cadets. He embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Makarini on 15 September 1915. On 19 May 1917 he received an accidental gun shot wound to the right arm and was admitted to hospital. Lt Maltby was promoted to captain on 9 August 1916 and returned to Australia on 28 February 1919 aboard HMAT Anchises..." - SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)
