Son of George Edward Vickery and Clara Vickery nee Rixon of Armidale Street, Uralla, NSW.

On 21 November 1916 George returned to Australia aboard HT Ayshire for change.

Commenced return to Australia on 28 June 1919 aboard HT Madras disembarking on 3 August 1919
