"...1284 Private John Alexander Henry, 32nd Battalion from Perth, Western Australia on the right... Pte Henry was a 21 year old boilermaker's assistant prior to enlisting on 19 July 1915 and embarked for overseas with D Company from Adelaide on 18 November 1915 aboard HMAT Geelong. Following further training in Egypt, he proceeded to France in June 1916 and was wounded and captured at Fleurbaix on 19 July 1916. After being held in a number of Prisoner of War (POW) camps in Germany, he was repatriated to England in December 1918 and arrived back in Australia on 10 April 1919..." - SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)
