Son of Robert James and Marie Jeanette Foster of Sunbury, Suffolk, England. Brother of Reginald Foster of 16 Buckland Avenue, Dover, England and who was serving with the British Army Pay Corp, England

Medals: 1914-15 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal

Previous occupation was as a farmer

Also served with the 2nd Suffolk Volunteers Regiment where he served in the Boer War

Aged 34 years 3 months. Born Hounslow, Middlesex, formerly resident Sudbury, Suffolk, resident Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Son of Robert James and Marie Jeanette Foster; brother of Mr. R. Foster. Farmer by trade. Educated at North Street School, Sudbury, Suffolk. Emigrated to Australia aged 33. Served with the Volunteer Company, 1st Battalion, Suffolk Regiment, in the South African (Boer) War. Enlisted in A.I.F. 11 September 1914.
