Husband of Ellen Helen Veel of Leonard Street, Deepdene, Victoria. Father of Douglas Veel, Nellie Veel and Jessie Veel.
Prior to enlisting he was employed as a salesman with Patterson's of Fitzroy, Victoria
Commenced return to Australia 14 Janaury 1919 aboard HT City of York disembarking on 22 February 1919.
