COPPOCK.—In loving memory of my dear brother, Private W. J. Coppock,' killed in action, April 15, 1917, aged  26 years.
In childhood we wandered together.
In manhood you inswered the call;
You are gone, but not forgotten, dear Will,
You are honoured and loved by us all.

William Joseph Coppock was the son of Henry and Mary Ann Coppock of Millthorpe. He was educated in Orange and worked as a horse trainer. William enlisted in the 17th Australian Infantry Battalion on the 5th May 1915 and achieved the rank of Private. While serving in France in the First World War, Private Coppock was killed in action on the 15th April 1917 at the age of twenty-three. His name appears on the Villers-Bretonneaux Memorial in France.
