Births Jun 1883 ARMSTRONG Richard Longtown 10b 457.

He was 32 and a son of James and Elizabeth Armstrong, of The Crossings, Penton near Carlisle, Cumberland, England.

His brother also fell. Their wargraves bear the same inscription.

IN MEMORY OF THE DEARLY LOVED SON OF MRS.ARMSTRONG BEWCASTLE.

The brothers are remembered on the Bewcastle war memorial which is in the form of an obelisk and stands at the main entrance to St Cuthbert's Parish Church, Bewcastle, Cumbria, [formerly Cumberland]
