Add my storyBiography contributed by Stephen Brooks
His brother, 3513 Pte. Sydney Zeehan Probin Wright, 5th Battalion AIF, was killed in action at Pozieres (70 kilometres to the south of Fromelles) only a few days later on 25 July 1916, aged 27.
In Kensey's service file is a letter to the AIF from the Town Clerk, City of Richmond, who wrote to Secretary, Department of Defence, 13 July 1917: 'Mr William Wright of 110 Lord St. obtained word twelve months ago that his two sons Sydney Wright No. 3513 Private, 5th Battalion, 2nd. Brigade and Private Kensey Wright No. 2482, 60th Battalion (formerly 57th Battalion) 15th Brigade 5th Division were missing after the Pozieres fight. Mr. Wright states he has been repeatedly at the offices of the Defence Department for further word but gets scant attention and as a result has demanded withdrawal of his third son under twenty-one years of age from the Ranks. At a meeting of the Richmond War service Committee held yesterday I was instructed to write you and request that definite word be conveyed to Mr. Wright and if the sons are killed that affairs be settled between the Department and Mr. Wright.'
