Sydney Salisbury COTTRELL was born in Maitland, South Australia in 1897

His parents were Frederick William COTTRELL & Annie HARPER

He enlisted in Northam, WA on 17th January 1918 and embarked from Albany, WA on the ship SS Port Darwin on 8th May, 1918 with the Western Australian Reinforcements 1

He returned to Australia on the ship City of Exeter on 12th July, 1919 and was discharged on 4th August, 1919 - he was a Private with the 28th Infantry Battalion 

Sydney died in Western Australia (last abode Hollywood, WA) and is buried in Karrakatta Cemetery
