The death occurred in hospital at Kempsey on Sunday of Mr. Louis Napoleon Maddalena, aged 66 years, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. L. Maddalena, of Oxley Island, where he was born. While a single man deceased saw service in the Boer War, and while residing at Wauchope he again enlisted to serve in the Great War. When hostilities ceased, he returned to Australia and took up residence at Laurieton and some 12 years ago went to the Macleay to reside. He is survived by his widow, two daughters and two sons, one daughter being Miss Ethel Maddalena (South Grafton). The funeral took place on Tuesday afternoon from the Kerripsey Catholic Church to the West Kempsey Catholic
cemetery, where Rev. Father Morris officiated at the graveside. Members of the Macleay sub-branch of the R.S.S.I.L.A. attended and bore the casket to its last resting place.
